A Name that Tells a Story - Pt 2, No 3, 2007

1. Find the meanings of these words from the story.
loop -      It means a ring or circle.
persuade -   It means to get someone to agree something
desperate -  It means that you want something really really bad.
current -      It means water moving in one direction.
lifeless -    It means without life.
2. Draw the incident that happened at the river.
3. Answer these comprehension questions to show your understanding of the text.
a) Where did  the boys playing? The boys played at the park.
b) Why do you think the boys pushed Te Whanaupani into the water?
The boys pushed Te Whanaupani in the water because they did not not like Te whanaupani.
c) What happened to Te WhanauPani? Te Whanaupani got pushed into the water.
